Abstract

Authors reviewed 22 cases of rheumatoid arthritis treated with Clinol¢ç (Sulindac) to evaluate efficacy and safety of the drug.
Average duration of treatment was 43 days and usual dosage was twice per day oral administration of 200mg after breakfast and dinner.
There were moderte or marked improvement in 63% of the cases and slight improvement in 27% at final physician¢¥s evaluation; subjective improvement in general feeling and ease of movement was reported in 81% of the cases.
There were no significant side effects which were attributed to Clinol¢ç (Sulindac) except mild dizziness, abdominal discomfort and skin eruption in 3 cases.
Our present study suggested that this non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug could be another choice for rheumatoid arthritis with reasonable efficacy and fewer side effects.
